AMALGA is a gamified wellness app that empowers users to improve their mental health through playful virtual pet interactions and community-driven experiences. Designed to replace clinical rigidity with warmth and engagement, the app turns care into connection.

Project Overview
To transform the perception of mental health apps by making them more enjoyable, relatable, and emotionally resonant through game mechanics and character bonding.
The app merges emotional wellness with virtual pet care, offering daily tasks, motivational letters, mini-games, and volunteer activities. By syncing pet health with user behavior, AMALGA builds emotional accountability through fun and empathy.

Hi-Fidelity Wireframe
We focused on pet-based gamification, syncing emotional states between the user and pet. Using co-creation tools like brainwriting and effort-impact matrices, the project evolved through rapid iteration and user-centered decision making.

Mental health support should be accessible, comforting, and joyful. Design choices emphasize softness, playfulness, and emotional connection, avoiding cold or sterile interfaces.
Final Design
The app includes virtual pets with emotional syncing, story-driven gameplay, real-time simulation, volunteer activities, and community features.
Typography includes COCOMAT and Brownist for a friendly, modern tone.
Product

Designing AMALGA was deeply fulfilling. It allowed me to combine creativity and compassion to build something joyful, healing, and innovative, exactly why I love design.
Achievements
Successfully created a functional prototype blending emotional UX design, gamification, and storytelling to reframe how users experience mental health support.
AMALGA proves that self-care can be colorful, interactive, and alive. The app replaces clinical charts with joy, empathy, and digital companionship.
